Parents, carers, and young people across Dundee have the chance to find out more about apprenticeships at a free upcoming event from Skills Development Scotland (SDS).
The apprenticeships information evening will take place on Wednesday 8th March, 6pm at Skills Development Scotland, Royal Exchange Building, Panmure Street, Dundee, DD1 1DU.
The country’s national skills agency will be bringing together a range of employers and training providers as part of Scottish Apprenticeship Week 2023 (6 to 10 March) to showcase the benefits of work-based learning.
Scottish Apprenticeship Week celebrates the achievements of Scotland’s apprentices, and all those who contribute to their success. The theme for this year’s celebration is ‘Unlocking Potential’, recognising how Scottish Apprenticeships are unlocking potential in people and businesses.
This event will give parents, carers, and local young people – including those who have left school – the chance to meet with employers and current local apprentices from a range of industries, and to find out more about different opportunities and how to apply for vacancies.
The event is free to attend and open to young people in the Dundee area, as well as their parents and carers, who want to know more about Scottish Apprenticeships. Local employers and training providers will be on-hand to showcase their apprenticeship opportunities. Local apprentices will also be there to talk about their experiences, and SDS careers advisers will be on-hand to talk about different routes and pathways into employment.
